Chesterton Literature Course:
Time: Fridays at 9 AM PST/12 PM EST

In this class, students will explore the beauty of truth in the tale of Gabriel Syme in Chesterton’s The Man Who was Thursday, discussed in the light of another of Chesterton’s great works, Orthodoxy. We will discover together how these two texts complement each other as Chesterton interweaves the mysteries and truths of philosophy and theology.
The class discussions will be led by a moderator from the Great Books Program. Students will engage in the very same Socratic method of discussion, while enjoying a combination of two of the best of the Good Books. In this class, students will experience J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit during eight weeks of reading, discussion, and adventure. Explore Middle-earth with Bilbo Baggins on his unexpected journey with Gandalf and the Dwarves!
